I was reading this article (because I’m a nerd and that’s what I do in my free time, troll my favorite internet sites for interesting bits of information to sound smarter at dinner parties- kidding, I don’t go to dinner parties.) But the point is, I was shocked to discover that the new cool, may, in fact, be what used to be the most uncool thing on the planet. Sober, straight edge living. Which is so strange in my head, because I was so used to just being super uncool. If you thought being sober in the US was bad, it’s actually way worse in India, surprisingly. (Well, maybe it’s not surprising, but it took me a while to get used to being EVEN more uncool than I was in the US). Anyway point is, apparently the world is trending straight edge.
Which brings me to the next point. If I’m becoming accidentally cooler now, I’m definitely going to get uncool again. It’s just a matter of time. I guess it’s just even more reason to just do the thing you feel represents you. If you are just you, there are times in your life where you will probably be the coolest person in the room. And that same you, at other points in your life, will also be the most uncool person in the room (again, through no fault of your own).
I guess the only thing you CAN do, is just to be happy with your own life choices.
(Because it would be really difficult to change your entire way of being every 3-5 years).
